According to Cyber Ireland’s 2023 Labour Market Report, the number of cyber security job postings in Ireland has more than tripled, jumping from around 2,000 in 2019 to over 6,700 in 2022. The sector is expected to support up to 17,000 jobs by 2030, contributing an estimated €2.5 billion to the Irish economy each year.
This growth reflects a global trend — cyber security skills are now among the most in-demand in technology, and organisations across all industries are competing to recruit qualified professionals who can keep their systems, data, and customers safe.
With opportunity comes urgency. The latest CyberPulse Ireland 2025 survey revealed that 51% of Irish office workers feel more vulnerable to cyber attacks than they did a year ago, and 57% admitted to unintentionally contributing to a security incident at work.
At the same time, over half of Irish companies say they are increasing investment in cyber-risk management and data protection, according to PwC’s 2025 Digital Trust Insights Survey. The message is clear: businesses are taking cyber security more seriously than ever before — and they need skilled professionals to lead the charge.
