Cyber Security – Beginner Course
Our beginner-friendly Cyber Security + AI course is designed for anyone who wants to protect systems, data, and organisations in today’s digital-first world. No prior IT experience is required. Over 8 weeks of live, interactive training, you’ll build a strong foundation in cybersecurity, gain exposure to AI-powered defence strategies, and explore ethical hacking and penetration testing.
What You’ll Learn
Cybersecurity Foundations
Participants will develop an understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, networking concepts, and operating system security in environments such as Windows and Linux.
Network Security
The program introduces network security monitoring techniques, enabling learners to analyze network traffic and identify suspicious activities. Participants will gain practical exposure to widely used network analysis and monitoring tools including Wireshark, Zeek, Snort, Security Onion, and Wazuh to understand how network-based and host-based security events can be detected and investigated.
Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing
Participants will gain exposure to ethical hacking and penetration testing concepts, including reconnaissance, vulnerability identification, and basic exploitation techniques. Practical demonstrations will introduce commonly used security testing tools such as Nmap, Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nikto, and Gobuster, allowing learners to understand how attackers discover and exploit vulnerabilities.
Threat Intelligence and Security Monitoring
A significant portion of the program focuses on threat intelligence and security monitoring. Participants will learn how to identify indicators of compromise and analyze alerts using Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms such as Elastic Stack or Splunk. Threat detection activities will be aligned with the widely adopted MITRE ATT&CK Framework, helping learners understand how real-world cyber attacks are structured and detected.
Cloud Security
The program introduces cloud security fundamentals, including common risks and security responsibilities within environments such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure.
IoT Security
Participants will explore IoT security risks, focusing on vulnerabilities in connected devices and common attack vectors targeting IoT systems.
Artificial Intelligence in Cybersecurity
The course includes an introduction to the application of artificial intelligence in cybersecurity, covering both defensive use cases (such as anomaly detection and automated threat analysis) and offensive scenarios such as AI-assisted phishing and automated attack techniques.
Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC)
Participants will also be introduced to governance, risk, and compliance concepts, helping them understand the role of policies, frameworks, and security controls in organisational cybersecurity management
All classes are delivered by a professional Senior Cyber Security Lead with real-world corporate experience. The lessons are 50% theory and 50% practical.
By the end of this course, you’ll have a comprehensive foundation in cybersecurity and the confidence to apply for entry-level cyber security roles or progress to advanced certifications.
